Having had problems getting the car through an MOT emissions test I put some DPF cleaner in the tank and been riding it for a month to clear out soot, doing some high rev journeys (keeping it above 2500 revs for 30 min stretches). done two local jounreys recently and now Nov 17, 2018 · An update my power is back in the car and the engine malfunction sign is gone. So what I should have added originally is that I had an engine management light on since Feb with Dpf codes but as it didn't cause driving issues I just thought it was a sensor issue and just kept driving normally and this engine management light came straight after changing my Jul 29, 2019 · When the DPF burns the soot, it leaves a very small residue of ash which cannot pass through the DPF. Over time this ash builds up and eventually blocks the DPF to the point of needing professional cleaning or replacement, there is no way to remove ash with the DPF in situ. When it comes on, the car does not go into limp mode and there is no difference in performance. The warning stays on a few minutes, then off a few minutes, then back on.
